Playland Updates & Happenings!

Good morning!

We are seeing snow (*yet again*) here in Maryland this morning. The horses and everyone at the farm are fed up with winter and ready for spring! We know that just about everyone reading this entry here in Maryland probably agrees with us.

So we want to look toward the springtime and think warm thoughts! We have our first C.O.R.E. Rider Clinic of the year on Saturday, March 12th 2016. Although the official first day of spring isn't until the following week, we are confident that the weather will hold up for us to have a great first clinic of the year! Plus Daylight Savings is the following day, and for us equestrians, that is almost a holiday in itself! Here is more information:

The clinic consists of a day full of lessons with un-mounted and mounted group sessions in the morning and in the afternoon.
Clinic Format:
9:30-10:15 am: First small group un-mounted session
*10:30 am-1:30 pm: First group of mounted riding lessons (1-hour lessons, 2 riders each) 
*1:30 pm-2:00 pm: Light Lunch Provided (FREE) 
*2:00 pm-3:15pm: Second small group un-mounted session 
*3:30-6:30pm: Second group of mounted riding  lessons (1-hour lessons, 2 riders each)

Clinic Pricing: 
*Sign-up for both un-mounted & mounted sessions and save! $85 for a full half-day session! 
*Un-mounted lesson only: $35
*Mounted lesson only: $65
* Space available on a first come, first serve basis.

Calling all WORKING STUDENTS! With spring on the horizon we are also looking for working students to join the Playland team! We are looking for a special candidates to fill open working student positions starting immediately. Our ideal candidate has a good work ethic, strong time-management skills and a keen interest in learning, as well as their own method of transportation. You must be able to work well with others, take direction and have a great attitude. Practical experience with horses is a must, and experience with young horses and a familiarity with eventing would be helpful. We maintain a 6-day workweek with consistent barn hours. Most days will consist of riding for the first part of the day with routine horse management and the availability of a lesson in the afternoon. Traveling to shows and events for the right person. Must be at least 18 years old and have your own transportation. Live-in on farm situation available for the right person.  Compensation will be in exchange for board for one horse, lessons, clinics, competitions and other opportunities.
