Last week, Glenda took homerbed PL Irish Pearl to Waredaca Farm for their annual Three-Day competition. This competition is unlike any others throughout the year, as it resembles the old, long-format of eventing. What is the long format you may ask? The traditional long format includes four phases of endurance: Phase A--Roads and tracks (walking and trotting); Phase B-- Steeplechase (galloping over about eight steeplechase fences); Phase C--Roads and Tracks (walk and trot as a cool down); and Phase D, cross country.
Glenda and Pearl scored a 38.3 in dressage, and then successfully completed the other phases of roads and tracks, steeplechase and cross country, with only a few minor time penalties. Then, they went on to jump a double-clear show-jumping round to finish off the competition in 10th place overall!
We are really proud of both Glenda and Pearl and can't wait to see where they compete next season!
