This past weekend was the Morven Park Spring Horse Trials in Leesburg, Virginia.
Glenda competed KA Clover in the Beginner Novice division and finished in 4th place! She also competed PL Irish Pearl in the Training division and finished in 10th place. Way to go Glenda!
Stephanie Kohr competed PL Lucky Empress and finished14th in the Novice Horse division.

Great first weekend out for Playland Riders & Horses!
What a great weekend for the Playland horses! We are so happy that everyone was able to get out and show yesterday at The Maryland Horse Trials & Combined Test.
Here are the results:
-Ashley Redman with PL Irish Queen ("Queenie") finished 3rd-T in the Junior Introductory division.
-Glenda Player with PL Irish Pearl finished 2nd in the Training-B division.
-Sofia Tamayo with PL Contessa was 9th in the Junior Beginner Novice division.
-Louisa Woodville with Empress (PL Lucky Empress) was 7th in the Novice-B division.
-Erinn Murphy won her Introductory division on Red Cloud ("Millie").
Way to go everyone!

What a weekend at the C.O.R.E. Clinic!
Yesterday, Playland hosted their 3rd-ever, C.OR.E. Rider Clinic at the farm. We had a good turnout and despite the wind and cold, we had a great time!! The morning started with an un-mounted session in the barn isles (due to weather) and then proceeded to build on those movements in the indoor on medical balls.
Each clinic it's very rewarding to see how small movements and awareness can make a huge impact in riders position and movement with the horse. Of course, these clinics are still relatively new for Playland and comments & suggestions are always welcome. Please send any comments to this email.
We also want to take a minute to thank Maya Kuntze Photography for the wonderful photos she continues to provide us with after each clinic!
We also wanted to congratulate Playland horses on good rides this past weekend at shows:
-Virginia Strench with her own PL Black Diamond finished 4th in the Training-B division at the Maryland Horse Trials Derby.
-Caroline Carney on her own PL Cha Cha finished 4th in the Jr/YR Open Novice-1 division at the Pine Top Spring Horse Trials in Thompson, GA.
After the un-mounted session finished, next was semi-private group lessons throughout the rest of the afternoon. These lessons are great because they can really take what was learned in the un-mounted session and see it translate directly into riding.

Auditing is FREE for Sunday's C.O.R.E. Rider Clinic!!!
Hello Everyone!!
Today is supposed to be in the upper 50's and we *think* it's safe to say that spring is finally arriving! Nothing makes the horses happier (and people) to see the sun shining, the grass coming in and temperatures rising. With that being said, this Sunday, March 15th, would be the perfect time to come out and experience something new!! Auditing is FREE for the mounted spots in our CORE Rider Clinic, and we'd love to have you come out to the farm! The mounted sessions will begin at approximately 10:30am and go until 5:30pm. We hope to see you on Sunday!

What a weekend! Thank you to Laine Ashker!
Hello everyone!
The Laine Ashker clinic has come and gone and we wanted to take a minute to thank everyone who braved the 'less-than-ideal weather' to come out and ride or audit with Laine. We truly enjoyed having her here at Playland, and by the looks of it, everyone else did too! We can't wait until she comes back again sometime in the future. Playland Updates for this week!
Hello Everyone!
We hope that you are staying warm out there with these below zero temperatures & windchills! YUCK! Mother nature hasn't been too kind to us here in Maryland, and it doesn't look like it's getting any warmer any time soon.
As you may have already seen, we had to sadly cancel our C.O.R.E. Rider Clinic that was supposed to be held yesterday. Temperatures were just too miserable! The good news is, we are having another one on Sunday, March 15th and would encourage people to come out for that one! If you were signed up for the previous one and want to sign-up for March, you can email Erinn at emurphy@arbee.net to do so.
Later this week, we have the Laine Ashker Clinic coming up at the farm! Keep you fingers and toes crossed that the weather holds up and we can get Laine here to Maryland! We have three days full of exciting things planned in addition to the lessons, including a basket of goodies to raffle off at the end of the weekend. Stay tuned to our Facebook page and website for all the latest announcements regarding the clinic.
We are also really excited about one of our youngsters for sale, PL Diamond's Inspiration (aka Izzy)! Before the really cold weather set in, Glenda was able to saddle and ride Izzy for the FIRST TIME and she was great! She took to it like an old pro and is already showing the perfect "lesson horse qualities" someone would want. She is eager to please and gives all her effort during the ride! If you are interested in purchasing Izzy, please contact Glenda today, or visit our sales page for more information.
