Weekly show results: Surefire Horse Trials

Good afternoon Bloggers!

This past weekend, several Playland horses competed at the Surefire Horse Trials in Purcellville, Virginia so we wanted to share with you the results. Virginia Strench competed with her own Black Diamond and finished 11th in the Open Novice-D division. Olivia White rode PL Lucky Valentine and finished 3rd in the Open Beginner Novice-A division. Glenda also took PL Irish Pearl and competed in the Open Training-A division, but had a little miscommunication and a stop which landed them in 13th place.  Pearl still has some learning to do, but Glenda knows what she needs to work on with her now and ready to tackle it!

Constantly Learning

Good afternoon everyone!

Lately, as you know, Glenda has been focusing on gaining experience for two of her mares in training, KA Clover and PL Irish Pearl. Last weekend, she did just that! Glenda took both mares to the Marlboro Horse Trials held at the Rosaryville State Park in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. It was an usually hot day in the midst of the cool summer we've had and the girls were not liking the warmer temps! Glenda competed Pearl in the Open Training division and was able to finish with two rails in stadium and a little hang-up on cross-country. Although it wasn't their best competition to-date, Glenda said Pearl was a trooper in the heat, and still went around everything bravely.

Clover competed in the Open Beginner Novice and did well finishing in 7th place. Clover was unsure in a "looky" stadium round, but overall very brave with only one rail in stadium and a clear cross-country course!

Overall, Glenda is happy that both girls got around and got more experience at events. Up next is the Surefire Horse Trials this weekend (September 27 & 28) in Purceville, Virginia.  Clover is getting the weekend off, but Pearl will be competing in the Open Training division again.  Stay tuned to see how they do!

Glenda said she was quite pleased as both mares were on their a-game this weekend and were listening to Glenda's half-halts all while paying attention to their footwork! Congratulations to another successful competition for these Playland mares!
